It's not clear whether Linux and Windows editions behave any differently.
Description
diatheke -s regex appears to not even recognize the metacharacter dot to substitute for "any single character"
It's unclear what flavour of regular expression analyser is supported by diatheke.
It seems to be a very early one and all the less useful because of that.
Huge room for improvement here.
