When serializing entries that are too long, throw an error

Currently, when writing a module, if an entry's length is too great for the driver's maximum size, we get truncated entries. Instead, we should generate some sort of error message.

The typical case is a commentary or LD with entries >64k using the 2-byte size drivers.
